Senator Loni Hancock: DeSaulnier is the only choice on September 1st
DeSaulnier is most progressive, most qualified choice for Congress
Dear Neighbor,
Mark DeSaulnier is my choice for Congress in this important special election next Tuesday, September 1st.
Mark’s election is a wonderful opportunity to send a progressive Democrat to Congress with a record of standing up to special interests and fighting for comprehensive health care reform, environmental stewardship, and American leadership based on the strength of our diplomacy and ideas, not just our military.
That is why Mark has been endorsed by Congressman George Miller, the Alameda and Contra Costa Central Labor Councils, the California League of Conservation Voters, the Sierra Club, the National Organization for Women, and Peace Action West.
Local leaders who understand the 10th Congressional District best are united in their endorsement of Mark. Every member of the El Cerrito City Council and over 80 percent of local elected officials, including the majority of city councilmembers in Lamorinda and Pleasant Hill agree: Mark DeSaulnier will fight for our priorities and will be uniquely accessible and accountable to the community he has represented for 25 years!
When health care reform cried out for a local champion, Mark held five town hall meetings advocating for President Obama’s plan and committed publicly to voting against any final proposal that does not include a robust public option.
When local refineries in the Bay Area put employees at risk, Mark introduced the toughest environmental and workplace safety regulations in the nation.
When Contra Costa was facing a medical services crisis, Mark fought for and saved the County hospital in Martinez and opened five Women’s Health Clinics in Richmond, Bay Point, Pittsburg, Concord and Brentwood.
Mark has shown that he knows our needs and, and he has served us with vision and integrity.
Please join me in supporting Mark DeSaulnier for Congress and don’t forget to vote on Tuesday!.
Yours in service,

State Senator Loni Hancock
