Dear Friend,
TODAY IS ELECTION DAY -- VOTE MARK DESAULNIER FOR CONGRESS

I was deeply humbled five months ago when Ellen Tauscher announced her appointment to the Obama Administration and threw her support behind me for Congress in the 10th congressional district.
We live in an amazingly beautiful part of this country: rich with diversity and beautiful habitat, steeped in historic achievement and ripe with opportunity.
At a time of great challenge, the commitment of our community to real health care reform, sustainable economic recovery and a restoration of the American Dream has been unwavering.
During my more than 25 years of public service to the people of this district, I have joined with many of you and your trusted local elected officials to fight for progressive values.
We increased access to health care—keeping the county hospital open and developing five women’s health care clinics. We stood up to special interests—cutting pollution and fighting childhood obesity. We fought for economic opportunity—making sure working families got fair wages and small businesses could compete in the marketplace.
We’ve worked hard together, and I am honored to have received the overwhelming support of those who truly understand the work I’ve done for this district. As we bring our supporters to the polls, Congressman George Miller, Assemblymember Tom Torlakson, Senator Loni Hancock, Senator Lois Wolk and the 80 percent of local elected officials who have endorsed me are calling voters, walking door-to-door and supporting our campaign.
I have been extraordinarily grateful for the support of these and other volunteers who have dedicated countless hours to our grassroots effort -- talking with voters about the importance of local leadership in Washington and of the values we share after living alongside each other for more than 30 years.
I have been a constant part of this community and look forward to continuing to work for you everyday in Congress. Today is Election Day, Tuesday September 1st. I would be honored to have your vote.
Always proud to serve you,
Mark DeSaulnier
